During cold rolling, the plate is passed through a series of rollers again, but this time with more precise control. Cold rolling also increases the strength of the steel. However, it can make the steel a bit harder and less ductile, so sometimes we need to anneal the plate after cold rolling.
Step 6: Annealing
Annealing is a heat – treatment process. The cold – rolled stainless steel plate is heated to a specific temperature and then cooled slowly. This process relieves the internal stresses in the steel and restores its ductility.
There are different types of annealing, such as full annealing and stress – relief annealing. Full annealing involves heating the steel to a high temperature and then cooling it very slowly. Stress – relief annealing is used to reduce the internal stresses without changing the microstructure of the steel too much.
Step 7: Surface Treatment
